Emmy and CJ Owens

Like many 2020 couples, the Owen's had to reschedule their April wedding. Their big day may have looked different than they originally planned, but was more special than they could have ever dreamed. Fall may be right around the corner but we are still swooning over this magical May wedding - grab your favorite latte and keep reading for the sweetest and most romantic summer wedding (of one of our favorite couples.)

Emmy and CJ met while attending Lee University, and both knew immediately they had found "the one." You may recognize Emmy as the guru behind our drool-worthy (if we do say so ourself) social media, or maybe as the assistant manger to both EAB locations (she wears many hats around here and is an actual rockstar we couldn't live without.) After being in the bridal business for seven-plus years, Emmy had her big day planned down to the tiniest of details. With COVID-19 making it's debut to the US shortly before the Owen's big day, making their Chattanooga venue and guest list surpassing 200 no longer an option - they decided on a small, intimate ceremony.

The most important thing for these two was meeting one another at the alter and committing to a lifetime full of love.

Emmy and Cj said "I do" on 05.28.2020 at Lee Chapel in front of their closest family and friends. She got ready in her childhood bedroom which her mother successfully turned into a bridal suite, and her father officiated the ceremony after walking Emmy down the aisle. They decided not to do a first look so the first time they saw one another would be when she was walking down the aisle #swoon. After the ceremony they celebrated by renting out the Owen's favorite italian, Café Roma, and ended the evening by sharing their first dance in the same spot where CJ proposed (we can't even with how sentimental and meaningful the smallest details were - talk about a perfect day.)

Emmy wore Maggie Sottero Maddox, an ivory beaded #gown with lace appliques - featuring a low back with dainty beaded straps. The jaw dropping and undeniably feminine fitted gown perfectly highlighted their theme, as well as Emmy's small frame.

They flew in Ashley Taylor Photography from Colorado to capture their big day. Emmy told us the two things worth splurging on is photos and your dress, because at then end of the day that is what you have to reminisce on.. Photos of you and the love of your life in your wedding gown.

The color pallet was kept summery by using natural elements with greenery and ivory tones, as well as hints of blush. The beauty of Lee Chapel is jaw dropping and did not need much added decor.
